At what engine height is it usually needed to install a low water pick-up? With a v-shaped hull and a transom jack with 5 1/2" set back.

Re: Water pick-up

Hi Matias, on my 14 feet boat and a johnson 70 with same CMC plate as you I easily raised it to 150 mm over bottom, at 160mm I got problems when tilting out, now I have a 140 V4 and I have blocked the two upper holes(was 4 holes on each side) and made a new under the two existing and has 25 psi at WOT with propellershaft even with bottom.this is with my Raker propellers

I guess this is differen from boat to boat and different engines

150mm? Ok, i'm nowhere near that. :) I'm not to keen at plugging and drilling new holes, the engine is a bit too new yet.
Thanks guys.

Keep in mind that unless the boat is in the 70+ mph range a nosecone can slow you down.
