what is composite decking/seat bases called?

does anyone know what the composite is called that manufacturers use for decking and seat bases now? know where to get it?

i have a seat bench that needs repairing and i can split the cost of a sheet with a buddy who's got the same problem in his boat. i know i can epoxy or resin the proper plywood but this would save me a bunch of time and mess. this section would support weight so it needs to be stronger structurally than starboard.

I am not sure but, I use 1/2" polyethalene sheets for various projects and my son has the capability to weld it at his job. I would imagine it would outlast most materials. Another idea would be sheet aluminum and aluminum angle pieces.

seaboard, playboard is new and all pvc.

i've also emailed the cutting board factory.com to see what they can do.

the seaboard guys got back to me. it's not sturdy enough to support a bench seat without additional supports. sounds like the stuff is similar to starboard.

no word from the other one yet.

bump

not getting very far. the 2 i have contacted above say they need support every 18" or so. that won't work for me. this bench seat covers my rear storage hatch and i'm not adding supports and losing the storage.

nobody knows what manufacturers are putting in for flooring now?

i'm still waiting for an answer from the factory too.

Composite;
5. Nautical. noting a vessel having frames of one material and shells and decking of another, esp. one having iron or steel frames with shells and decks planked.

By Definition,....... Composite is a Combination of Materials..........
Aka,.... Fiberglass,+ Plywood IS a Composite............

Other Materials used include End-grained Balsa wood Coreing,....
Kegelcell,... Divi-cell,..... are different types of Foamboard........
They ALL Relie on the Fiberglass sheathing for their Strength.........

So,....... Unless you're prepared to Cast new panels,.......
You're kinda Stuck with Plywood........

thanks, bondo. another board mentioned the divi-cell and resin combination but i haven't found anything on it yet. you have confirmed my suspicions and it looks like i'll be coating some plywood!
