My 1988 Rude is hesitating on throttle up. I have installed new plugs, but doesn't seem to help. Do I need to decarbonize? I have read about Sea Foam. What about ordinary Carburetor Cleaner?I bought this engine new and has low hours.

A decarb using Sea Foam is a great place to start.

Spraying carb cleaner, in the engine, will accomplish nothing.

Re: 25hp Evindrude Hesitation

I bought a can of the Deep Creep(Sea Foam)yesterday, and a can of the Sea Foam liquid for the gas tank. I sprayed the engine carburetor, removed plugs and coated cylinders, and let sit for an hour between applications. I found in section in Search about "DeCarbonizing"and followed these directions. It seems to have helped. I just need to get out on the water and blow everying out. I don't believe it is a good idea to reeve the engine to much in neutral?

You are correct. Revving in nuetral accomplishes nothing.

The Deep Creep is good. I thought you were referring to the linkage cleaner available everywhere.

Take it out and give it a go. What you have done will help.
