1985 Yamaha 150 (ETXK) Shift Rod

I need to order a replacement stainless steel shift rod. My engine (ETXK) has a 25" shaft. The part # for the shift rod (6E5-44120-03-00) is the same as the 20" shaft engine (ETLK).
It would seem to me that the shift rod's part number for a 25" engine would be different than a 20" engine. Am I missing something??? Thanks in advance for your replies!!!

To my knowledge, which is limited to the '87 DT150, the shift linkage terminates @ the powerhead, so the shaft length doesn't matter. My Yamaha linkages have the same (similar) set up. Did you read my question about my alarm going off? Has yours ever done that?

Thanks rodbolt. You are right, There are two part #'s for 1985 150. One of the part #'s for "Handle gearshift assy" 6E5-44120-02-00 refers to "UR Long". The other part # 6E5-44120-22-00 refers to "UR Ultra Long" I have a 25" leg. Is my shaft length "UR Long" or "UR Ultra Long"??

Also, in 1994, the part #'s changed to 6E5-44120-03-00 "UR Long", and 6E5-44120-23-00 "UR Ultra Long". Is the difference in part# because it is same part but stainless steel instead of steel?? Kind of stupid questions, but I want to order the right parts!!! Thanks again for your replies!!!

Oh, I got the above part info is from the official Yamaha website. Boats.net where I buy most of my parts had them listed as the same PN between 1985 150 ETLK and 150 ETXK.

An ultra long was 25 inch in 1985. You want the 1994 and later stainless steel one.
