Phil just mentioned in one of our emails that he can't seem to get onto iboats anymore. We were wondering if he had gotten canned or something?

There were also some connections issues with that part of the world a few months back... could that be the problem? If any other Aussie members had any problems, please chime in.

-Looking out for my peeps.

I have trouble connecting when I'm in Oz too. Aldo (Dunaruna) figured out how to use proxy servers to get around it and I figured out that I could use one of our VPNs which looks like I am getting on from the US or UK.

Re: Hailing Mods/Admins Re:Kiwi Phil

[colour=blue]spots, I'm about to e-mail Phil, I'll walk him through the following.

iboats are continuing to block this sector of the world, Phil has been caught in the web (excuse the pun).

I use numerous proxies to circumvent the block. A VPN and anonomous proxies use a similar method to hide addresses - encryption. An anonomous proxy is a little bit more stable (IMO).

Apparently, iboats are using the block to stop DOS attacks from hackers - I've said it before and I'll say it again, if a computer illiterate mechanic can get through, what's to stop a hacker?

Re: Hailing Mods/Admins Re:Kiwi Phil

I am thru......but something is amiss......I am being 'unlogged'.
Thanks Spots, i will await Aldos e-mail.
Tell you how i made it this time. I just kept pressing uboats in my favourites, probably 60 or many more times, then bingo, and here is me thinking I had been given the DCM for my last posts on the middle east!!!
Probably be back to the usual block tomorrow.
Thanks for the help.
Cheers

Phil, change your bookmarks. That is why you are having to log in so much.
Go to the main forum page and bookmark it, then you will be good to go.

OK Lester.
I went to "Forums Home", opened, then to 'bookmark', does that mean to add to Favourites?
Sorry if I sound an idiot, but I am.....

Re: Hailing Mods/Admins Re:Kiwi Phil

I will tell you what has changed......maybe not relevent.
In favourites, beside uboats, is an "i" inside a red triangle.
Had this before when uboats first changed the boards, then it went to a blue "e" inside a blue square.
Anyway I connected 1st up this 2nd time.
Thanks all.
Will talk to Aldo too.
Cheers

Welcome back!!!

Your Middle East stuff was at least coherent, so I suggested that iboats give you a break. I'm pretty sure that's what did it . . . :D

But it took me 19 attemps to get on this morning, so everything is just the same I suppose.
