89 3 cylinder 70 hp merc piece of junk

I'm back again trying to fix this annying SOB. I replaced the stator because there was no juice going to the coils, the boat started right up but only ran on cylinders2and3. i was told to change the swithbox, did that and now runs on cylinders 2and 3 most of the time with all 3 kickin in occasionally. Someone please help!

Have you checked your plugs and wires. I'm' not familiar with this model, but bad wires or spark plugs, will give you this type of problem. If you have a digital multimeter, do a condinuaty check on your wires. you should have no more then 10 k ohm per wire. Thats acually very high, but it should be enough to fire most plugs.

Swap the coils around and recheck..
