Cavitation

I have a 60 h.p. jonhson the motor run fine<br />then I will be runing good at low speed then <br />when I hit it it starts cavitating I checked the prop for slipping it was ok could I have a problum<br />in the lower unit. the boat is 10 yrs old and just started last summer.

How did you check the prop for slipping? Where is the cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of the hull? What kind of boat are we talking about?
