55 hp nissan no power to start

I have a 1985 nissan 55hp that I was changing batteries and the cable shorted against the wrong post and I now no power coming from ignition switch. Any help will be tremendously appreciated, please!!!!! jholmes@hyperusa.com

You have a fuse on the engine that may have popped.

internetoutboards,<br />thanks for the info any idea were to begin searching. i tried tracing the wires from the cables back to the solenoid and saw nothing. the smaller wires went into a junction block and plug together but see nothing like a fuse or fusible link. would the fuse possibly be between the switch and engine. any more help please!!!!!!

There is a black rubber fuse holder near the CD module.
