1986 chris craft scorpian 230

Hi,I am looking at buying 1986 chris craft scorpion.very solid hull.original 350 has been replaced with a rebuilt 454 chev approx 375-400 h.p.96 hours on rebuild.has a volvo 280 out drive.Any comments would be helpfull

Chris Craft makes a nice hull. Is this a cruiser? I'm not famaliar with the scorpion. The 7.4l should haul!!!

I guess I't's classified as a sport cuddy,not quite sure of the weight.

They were decent boats. I almost bought a new one in '86 but got a Wellcraft 23 Nova XL instead- they are very similar boats. <br />Dry weight was around 4000 lbs. Stock smallblock power would push them to just under 50 MPH. Some of the mid-80's Chris Crafts did have problems with significant hull failures with their larger performance boats, so look very carefully before buying.
