1988 - 125 force - tilt pump

i took the tilt trim pump apart and i can't get the ends where the snap rings are, out. any suggestions on how to get the end caps off?

Under the snapring is a valve, not just a cap. If you have the pump apart, you will have to blow them out with air pressure, cover the pump body with a rag, it will catch valve when it comes out. Then you remove shuttle valve with needle nose plyers, and push out the other valve with a dowel.

thank you, clanton. i guess they aren't the easiest things to get out. will i hurt anything if i apply too much pressure?<br />thanks<br />dave

No, just dont let the valve hit you in the fore head when it comes out.
