Not sure on the gap ,but it looks like it takes Champion L76V. QL76V is optional plug.

Those are surface gap plugs and require no gapping. NGK plug is BUZHW, also a surface gap. I believe the only difference in the 2 champions is that one is a resistor plug.

thanks for the info rickdb1boat!I pulled one out the other day, dont remember the number but do know it was a champion.the one in it looked like a normal plug you would gap.I dont know if I have ever seen a surface gap plug...would it hurt my motor having the normal type plugs in it?

Does the plug you pulled out match either one of the champion numbers listed for your boat motor?

Champion L77JC4 works good in these motor also. Just a little hotter and is less prone to oil fouling.

ob, I dont remember the number that was on the plug as it was several days ago & I just did a visual inspection, put them back in to seal the hole & decided to go with new ones.I just looked at a pic of the NGK BUZHW & I can tell you its nothing like that one.it was just a regular spark plug that you gap....I hope I didnt do any damage running it with these plugs installed.looks like there could possibly be some piston clearance issues, unless the ones in my motor have a shorter threaded section.

I've got a 1999 90hp force and the manual that came with it covers the 120. It has the recommended plug as NKG BP8H-N-10 with a gap of .040
