Nice work on the tear down, yeah I see the reason that stringer was broken, all the rotten wood that attached to is allowed it to be worked and crack because the boat was used when rotten. The best way to look for cracks in the hull at the rib ends is...

Don't rush getting back to work on her, fc. Let the knee heal before you start stressing it. You're gonna kneed (sic) both of them.

    Looks good from here!

Those highway signs are normally .080 5052 AL good stuff for making patches and even hull stiffeners too.

    1984 16' I/O Invader Deck-Stringer-Bulkhead Restoration

Hi all - I have a 1984 16' I/O Invader with a Volvo AQ125a engine and 270 stern drive. There are no engine mounts - it is entirely supported by the transom via cantilevering (hope I spelled that right).

Anyway, I am in the middle of replacing...

Blistering Problems on New Scout 210 XSF.

I purchased a new 2013 Scout 210 XSF in 2013, and after one season discovered widespread blistering on the transom, and the length of the hull underside.

Very disturbing. I keep the boat at my dock in fresh water, like many boats before...

For that it would work fine. But I dont have a "house". Mine is an open Center Console. But I do still have to do something to the gunwale tops and the splashwell top edge. I'm thinking of returning to the nautolex for the gunwales, but...

    seat brackets

Hi everyone, I am new to this group. I am in need of some replacements parts for my 1997 Sunbird fish and ski 170. I am specifically looking for the seat mounting brackets that mount to the boat. Where is the best place for me to find replacement parts?...

I noticed the same thing with my top slid back on mine. Slowed mine down to about 44 mph. I just installed some smart tabs this afternoon. Might get to test them out tomorrow or next weekend.

Sorry for the delayed response but the boat is an hour from my house. I went up there today and replaced the carpet on the bunks, and took it for a long ride. The decals are the name of a Marina, which I'm guessing sold the boat originally....

I just mentioned the Seacast because it was mentioned to me...

I've decided to go with Coosa Bluewater 26 density in 1.5 thick for the transom. I will NEVER have to worry about it again.
