Weedy lakes and yamaha jet boats

Looking at going from a stern drive boat to a 2007 or newer Yamaha Boat. Spend a couple weekends a summer in northern Minnesota/Wisconsin on smaller lakes that can sometimes be weedy, rest of the summer spent on the Mississippi River.
Just wondering what kind of problems I could encounter with the Jet Intakes and weeds?

The weeds will plug up the intake grate. What does make it past will be chopped up and sent into the cooling system of the eng.

Make sure you have a cooling water strainer and keep it and your grate cleen.
At the first sign of loss of power or pump cavitaion check you intake for weeds with the eng off.
