Re: Pics of your classic Wellcraft
Here's a few of my 'new' Nova II. Only had her out a couple times so far, but absolutely love it. We've had 25-40mph winds at the lake, causing whitecaps and 1.5-2ft swells (huge for Colorado waters). My 23' jetboat would have crushed our spines at anything above trolling speed, but the Nova takes the waves and just crushes 'em, and rides like a Caddy doing it. Had to replace both raw water pumps/housings, and both t-stats. Other than that she runs great, even with the quadrajets. As far as I can tell, she's completely stock, and unmolested. Thru-hub exhaust, no bottom paint, gel in incredible condition. The black gel on the fore deck is showing some chalking, so I'll have to compound and polish it, but the rest of the gel shines like a mirror! The weak link in the deal was the trailer. Never really used, I had to install new backing plate/brake assemblies on the rear axle, the fronts seem to be in better condition. Also had to replace the master cylinder, MC mounting/spring plates, and the dampers. This weekend I waxed her, and oiled all the interior teak. The teak oil made a huge difference. Probably do it 2-3 more times this year, then hopefully just have to do it yearly. Alll in all I think it was a great deal for $10K and a trip from Colorado to Detroit to pick her up.
