I discovered that the ski locker door in the floor on my Q5i was responsible for a lot of the noise when running on choppy water, etc. I silenced the "slapping" noise by using pieces of small rubber weather strip (from Lowes). After cutting the double-sided weather strip in half, I placed 5 or 6 pieces of this under the outer edge of the door where it make contact with the opening in the floor. (I used multiple pieces leaving some space in between them to allow for proper drainage). This was immediately effective in completely silencing the door. This cut out almost all of the extraneous noise. After three weeks, the self-adehsive seems to be holding up very well.
