seems like they should have installed a cleat in the centerof the bow-a real pain to first loop it through the bow ring and then to the cleat near the windshield!,looks like there is no way to access that underside- i had a idea to cut out a hole where the center bow cushion is and use stainless stell hinges to make a anchor locker-that would also allow me access to that area to install a pop up style cleat ? any thoughts are welcomed

Welcome to iboats Jim.

I haven't but out of curiosity why do you need one there?
I'm pretty new to boating so any new tricks for me to learn are appreciated.

thanks for the reply!! the reason i posted it is when you try to set the anchor and back up if you use the cleat on the side the boat it pulls the boat at a angle, unless you first run the rope through the ring on the bow by leaning over the front of the boat-then tie it off on the cleat, most boats have one or two cleats very close to the center of the bow,i think tracker " missed the boat" on this design- the cleats are almost a foot to far back

Makes sense but I've never had a problem anchoring and tying of the side. Although I've never used a center cleat so I know no different.

Now I'm gonna have to try to see the difference.
You may just have spoilt my boating experience for me!

Jim, I've just bought this from the hardware store.
Figure I'd clip it onto the bow ring and then the anchor rope can be easily hooked onto it.
Saves having to thread the whole rope through.

I'm out first thing tomorrow morning.
Love trying new things! :D

Brilliant idea! How did it work?

I worked a dream my friend.

Really easy to hook the line, a little more tricky to unhook but the sea was pretty rough and it was the first time.
has ot 100% convinced that tying off from centre bow is any marked benefit but we'll see.

I'll keep doing it and see what happens.
