So I have been schooling myself in gel coat repair and have been restoring this boat I just bought, my problem is the ski pole. The ski pole fiberglass section is broken from the previous owner, as in busted all the way across the back side of the mount plate. I was going to remove the ski pole and look at beefing up that support area so I could pull the kids on their tube this summer (instead of trying to use the rear tie off mounts like the previous owner), the ski pole moves freely but there must be some kind of plate below the fiber glass that will not allow my to remove it. From my understanding these Fish and Ski's had interchangeable poles for a seat or a ski pole but for the life of my I cannot figure out how to get the ski pole loose. I am wondering the bottom plate used to be mount to the underside of the fiberglass tub but it is almost impossible with this pole together.
Does anyone have any idea how to remove this?
