Bump & paging Grandad, SOTY 2013 winner, its that time of year...

And by bump, i mean a Ukranian hockey bump/body check into the glass ;)

Somebody had to get it started. Been such a long road since the forum upgrade, i cant even remember how many boats splashed in 2014.....

Oh yeah that's right and it's creeping up toward December already. I can think of a few SC's that got wet this year.

I have been tyring to remember all the Splashes for the year so far. I can think of three Ciefs Waterman, Gibbles, and Weeping Willy. A couple of 16 SS. Budski, and Sig Saur's flipper. Sig Saur's 18, and I think Dozer had an 18 didn't he? I know there were 4 splashes Mothers Day weekend counting Sig, and mine although mine wasn't a whole boat resto so it doesn't count. I can't remember any more, but I know there were more. Any body else got any?

I would add CJmules's Chief to the splash list too. Not sure of the rules but I think there has to be nominations and then a vote on those?

I forgot about his. I'm just trying to think of all the splashes so we know who to nominate. It was a productive year in tin land for splashes.

He hasn't been around much, I read a post from him a while back in the Rebuild forum.

Gonna be honest guys, the forum update did me in obviously it still isn't done as I got an error message midway through this post. The 18SS has been played on ALOT but it isn't splash worthy but you all are more than welcome to throw flipper in there.

Gotta be impressive that it was done in 92 Days from start to finish, cruised at 34 MPH and completely done for $1800.00 AND sold for $3800.00

Welcome back, Sig. The forums are still far from perfect, but a helluva lot better now. The error was probably a server error that happens sometimes during the auto save. Just ignore it by clicking OK and keep on writing.

You gotta update the SL topic and fill us in. You know what kind of boat pornographers we are. :D Besides the forum was kinda empty with you and a few others MIA.

BTW - Is this the first official SOTY entry?

I may try to check back in a little more often now. Honestly not much has been done since I installed the trim tabs, I did install double 1200 GPH bilge pumps, one manual control one auto float. I still have to finish all the stern work/seating hence the reason I wouldn't consider or nominate it for a SOTY candidate.

I updated once about how I bought a Honda Civic for a gas saver for $450.00 I put a head gasket on it sold it and tripled my money, then a girl from work says I have a 2004 Pontiac sunfire for sale it has a blown piston $500.00 so the next thing I know I am putting an engine in a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire $250 for an engine and guess what sold it for $1900.00

Then a girl at work says my room mate didn't pay the bills this month and if I don't come up with some money my kid and I are on the streets I need to sell my 2004 Oldmsmobile Alero with bad transmission I would take $400.00 The next day and $220.00 later I am installing a transmission in an Alero two weeks later it was sold for $1600.00

Next up 2001 Nissan Altima with timing chain death rattle $450.00 for the car $130.00 for new timing chain water pump oil pump tensioners and guides I kept it.

Followed by A coworker paying $670.00 for the installation of an Auto trans in a 1996 Honda Accord

Transmission install on a 2003 Pontiac Grand prix,

Followed by an engine install on a 1999 VW Jetta,

Sig has been busy.

I don't see much boat work there, Sig. Just cars, more cars and even more cars. Keep it up and you can gold plate the Silver Lining. :joyous:

Nice to see you've been banking some extra dough for the new tinhead joining the family.

I'd have ended up spending more for tools then parts and hope to just break even....

Stop by the porch & sit a spell when ya can. Noce to have you around the joint.

Flipper was exactly what i was thinking of when i sent ya a text earlier.....

Yeah sorry about that JB, I didn't get back to you sooner and I haven't forgotten about the plaques either, uncle has been in the hospital.

PS, Make that double tinheads joining the family.

Well you have seen the shop man, I pretty much have most non specialty tools already though I did have to buy a new impact gun and a transmission jack. Northern Honda Axle nuts are a serious PITA the cheapo Craftsman gun wouldn't remove them, broke two 1/2" breaker bars.

Was gonna buy an IR 2135 BUT Lowes no longer stocks IR, so ended up with a Kobalt it is a freaking awesome gun for $99

I keep close tabs on cost do what is minimially necessary and sell with full disclosure at well below book value.
