Bought a trailer but had to take the boat on it.I was going to just scrap it but after looking at it she,s in good shape. It has a few dings and paint missing. Where do I start. The floor has been replaced with pressure treated ply wood.its in good shape and the old bench seat is not bad. I dont think there is any foam under the wood.Should I pull the wood up and put foam in? The transom needs replacing also from what I can tell. What wood do I use for the transom ? I will be posting pictures in near future.

Step 1: REMOVE the pressure treated wood DECK (floor) PT chemicals are corrosive to the aaluminum hull and can not be removed too soon. Step 2: post some pix of your Falcon. Step 3: pretty much everything else ;) Thanks for keeping it outta the shredder

I'm working on a '68 Falcon.
Did you get the titles? Are you in a state that makes not have the titles a real pain in the a$$.

I,m in Canada (Ontario) the boat was owned by a guy who died. No one knows where the titles are for the boat. I am stripping it down will remove the PT wood right away. I went today to look at a Jupiter 16 its in nice shape. It has a 50hp Yamaha on it. I may buy it and get rid of the Falcon. I tried to post some pics but keeps tell me file to large.Working on getting them on The pictures are of Jupiter 16

Did you buy the one on Kijiji that was in Wiarton or Owen Sound that had a trailer but no motor?I have the same boat that one of my relatives wants to buy(will never be for sale).I tryed to get a hold of him when I saw that one,but I couldn't contact him.I almost went and got it myself.Mines been in the family since new and am running a 92 60 Johnson on it now.Perfect power for that boat.I changed the transom at one point from a 16" to a 20" because the longer shafts are easier to come by.

Like JB said - Watch the selling in the forum. If you have anything to add about it - Only PMs please.

When you add pics with the Upload Attachment, be sure to click on a size. Large is best.

Opinions would it be better to use 3 sheets of 1/2 in plywood or 2 x 3/4 in the transom of the falcon. Can Gluevit be used on both sides of the hull. Has anyone had any luck with west system G flex 650

2 x 3/4"...and make sure that you check the bow in the pieces before you laminate; you'll want to counteract the distortion.

3 sheets would be more difficult to counteract any warpage in the sheets.

2 x 3/4" sheets for sure.

Gluvit goes on the inside only. There's a whole bunch of rivets on the bottom of a boat, not sure I would want to use a torch and epoxy on them one at a time. Although the G flex would seal ones that are holding on the chines and keel where the gluvit wouldn't do such a good job. Doing the gluvit on the seam rivets inside is about the only way to do them, you shouldn't use a torch on the seams due to the sealer material between the pieces.

Thanks ,after I removed the floor and cleaned out the 5 inches of sand that was in the stern after I power washed it I found some bad news. Looks like someone fixed it was nuts and bolts across the last rib near the stern. Then they put fiberglass resin on top of that. Today I will take the tub off the back so I can see better what I have to work with.
