I'm playin' with the Starmada. I'm broke azz too. We do have plenty of threads to find what we can and cannot afford. Even the freebies are outta sight for me.

sweet Ga you gave me a couple new threads to posts

muwahahahahhhaaaa...

I don't know if I can keep up with all these threads! Just kidding! Like the admiral just told me " you spend to much time on boat porn as it is " but I'll certainly give it a try!

I showed the Admiral a perfect donor for the Lone*Star this morning. Has the motor I want, a nice trailer to flip and lots more. Easy donor that would yield a free outboard.

I said that's what I want for Christmas.

Woo boy, the look in her eyes was enough. No boats from Mrs. Clause.

Might see if I can swing a deal but not pick it up for a month or two.

If you're lucky the stocking won't have a hole in the toe so the coal stays inside, 64. LOL

What I proposed is not MORE threads but rather a way to ORGANIZE em and keep em together.....

Condense to one area... maybe 4 or 6 total... small tin, big tin, repairable glass, donors, antique....

Move/condense/rename as needed existing threads there

Lock so that only mod can create new threads... that way it is VERY easy to police AND very easy to keep up....

Also it then becomes possible to only give posting permission to qualified individuals such as a minimum post count or whatever other requirements seen fit.

I can stickie the all of the threads I listed except for TLC. That's about it. The rest won't happen because classes of members are created with restricted posting ability. And where do you draw the line -10, 25, 50, 100, etc. posts? I for one wouldn't be a happy camper trying to defend restrictions like that to less empowered members in a free forum.

All the threads I listed are scrutinized constantly already and periodically are threatened with closure. It's best to not rock the boat. You have to remember iboats business is selling parts and selling listing services for boat sales. That's why anytime a member tries to sell or buy, it gets squashed. The forums can't be used for counterproductive activities disruptive of the core business. We're skirting the limits now.

no worries.... I for one have no personal interest in restrictions, just thought iboats might like em to help keep probs in check (btw I was thinking 500 or so or maybe having to read the rules and correctly answer a short quiz on said rules).... My only motivation was to try to control the occasional violations that threaten these threads along with organizing them..... That and make it less traumatic for the hard core tin heads when someone posts up one of those itchy boats LOL

Carry on oh fearless one! :D

Wish this little tub was closer, I bet I could talk him into a fair price and scavenge that 70 Johnny for a future project.

That good looking trailer is AL framed and worth triple what he's asking. Man sometimes I hate the PNW, especially when I read CL.

I guess we should get Glen & John to head up the cross country Tin transport system's setup......

They certainly seem to have crossing our northern border dragging Tin down pat..........

So Donor boats, I got a spot in the hanger cleared out yesterday and got the big old Itchy boat hauled in for it's gutting. It is amazing how much good stuff there is on one of these 19.5 foot water logged beasts. I bought this thing for the trailer, so the rest is gravy, I have $800. in it I will see what I get for all the good stuff.

I replaced the distributor cap and figured out they had it wired 4 poles out and the 230 SBC fired right up. Bonus.

The outdrive I think is just for parts, virtually no oil in it and it looks like it was wacked real hard.

Lots of aluminum hinges, a set of controls.

Humminbird GPS fishfinder.

Kenwood stereo with Pioneer amp.

Hard ware like crazy.

Plus a real nice set of bow rails and an aluminum below deck fuel tank yet to come out.
