I think I can identify a V5 hull by the extra splash rails but given a specific hull length/design what are the differences between the two hulls? Example 22ft Holiday vs 22ft Holiday V5?

Any comments?

thanks

Re: Holiday vs Holiday V5 hull?

V5 slightly wider beam which makes them a little deeper and higher off the water, plus the 2 additional strakes, predecessor to the LUND IPS and IPS 2, same guy/designer I have been told.

On the 22' huge difference

seeking 22' SS, all the time

great hull

I still say you would have to sit a 22 V5 Holiday next to my 22 Holiday Reg. Hull and prove to me there is any advantage. Both would have to be OB models as the only difference I could see would be s different weight distrubtion from a O/B and a Inboard. There both wonderfull big water boats.

Deeper V, smoother ride. Might take a little more horsepower to achieve the same speed.

I agree. My Offshore has the V hull (I'm pretty sure) and the back of the boat has a very pronounced V in it. Might not plane great or quickly but I can't wait to play in 4 footers with it.

We had a 1979 V5 Holiday 22. Great riding boat - much nicer than the standard Holiday 22. Ours had a MerCruiser 228 (Chevy 305 SB) and it would almost touch 50mph, so it certainly wasn't a slug...

[ Do you have a rear photo of your 22 V hull. Id like to compare it with my 22 Holiday 22 to see the difference. My holiday with the 200 HP will do 50 mph. But only a fool would run it that speed very long. The rear of the boat has a v look but I have nothing to compare it to. QUOTE=Bwana Don;3562949]I agree.
