Hi everyone Im new to your forum . I just bought a 1976 16ft Starcraft super sport and was looking around the internet for info on it . I dont have any pictures yet but Ill post some as soon as I can . Believe it or not I only paid $100.00 for it yes only $100.00 it was a a friends garage sale and was his fathers but has been sitting since 97 he had it up for 500.00 I jokingly offered 100 bucks and he said sure .... believe me I hooked it to my truck right away and left . It came with a 75hp force O/B that popped over after alittle time and really its not in bad shape at all the hull is sound from what I can tell and basically everything is there . There is rot in the rear floor and both dashes are rotted out . Seats are in relatively good shape no tears and such , but Im sure Ill have to rebuild the bases I may end up just letting a friend that does interiors redo all the seats . Ive been reading posts on restorations here and they have been and I am sure will be alot of help . I am planning a complete restoration over this winter .

That is truly a great deal! Always nice to have friends like that and no doubt it was a good thing you hooked it up and peeled out of there! Will be watching the rebuild forthcoming!

Welcome! Heck of a deal. As you've seen from your reading, these boat are easily rebuildable. Good luck with your project. Looking forward to some pics.

WOW you better repaint her before she gets reported stolen:eek::D

Yeah my 16' SS came complete with rotten dash panels too, good thing there are good folks on this site to help us figure some of this stuff out.

Good luck with the rig, and post some pics up before an angry crowd gathers;)

The clocks ticking and pictures of your find are required to join the club.;)
Great deal on your score. Add 2 boat bucks and you will have one heck of a boat.
I don?t have any experience with the brand of your motor but if you can still get parts and the compression is good then run it like you stole her. Wait I think you did.

ay, there's the rub. Farce motors have poor parts availability and stuff tends to be real expensive.....like the $140 water pump kit, $60 carb kit, and $170 piston for my 1996 5hp.

but you got a hell of a buy even if all wood is mush and it had no motor at all! welcome to the land of the bottom feeders!

Sorry guys no pics yet but Ill work on getting some up tomorrow I work nights so Ill try and post them after I get home from work ,, which is now lol ONe edit .. the engine is a stinger 75 not a force my mistake . I went and put a cover on it today before work and checked it out alittle bit more , seeing I didnt really take the time to do so when I bought it I just RAN lol . Any how it seems the rear floor and the dashes are the only rot now I know Ill find more when I start digging into it . Im thinking it had sat at such an angle the mosture gathered in the rear . The front of the consels seem very solid as does the floor from about 4 ft up from the rear and the wood under the front sitting area is also very solid . I want to remove all of the pleather and replace it with carpet and a few other things I saw that ezmobee did to his 18ft Starcraft one being the seats I dont like the lounge seats and I want to go they way he (you) did on his/yours 2 swivel pedistal seats in front with to seats at the rear with a consel / storage between . I also found two pieces of burreled (sp) oak in my fathers shop that are the right size for the dash I think that would look nice . Anyhow this site is I am sure going to be a great deal of help for me . Im used to rebuilding old cars 50s and older never done a boat , thats where my name comes from I belong to The Pharaohs car club

Yah, for $100 I would have jetted out of there before running the motor too!!!

Beware, some of the guys around here start to get itchy and growl if photos take too long to post. Especially photos of a $100 SS!:D

Thanks! Also, a Johnson Stinger is a good motor you can still get parts for and in my opinion, is the ideal motor for a 16' Starcraft. Great power to weight ratio.
