what are these tabs for?

this is an early 80s s18ft super sport. I got it mostly stripped a few year back from a guy here several years back who doesn't post anymore. it was a parts boat for his other boat. this picture is the underside of the small bow top....what are the aluminum 90 degree tabs that are horizontal(3 of them) for?? since I didn't take it apart, im not sure how it was originally(only 2 shown in photo)

At one time there was flotation foam and a vinyl covered 1/8"ply cover that sat on the tabs to hide the bow support mess

yeah there were remnants of the vinyl on the wood as well as remnants of carpet!.....

Mine has them as well, I used them to run wiring across and tapped some holes in them to attach the bow enclosure and make it easily removable.
