Hello from germany,

I have been the proud owner of a starcraft mariner 220 aluminum boat for 14 days and did not know about the boat here in germany.
Has anyone in this forum experiences with the boat made?
- What is the general quality and durability of the boat?
- what aluminum is it and which sheet thickness?
- were there problems with leaking rivets?
- How much hp can I make to the boot?

I would like to install a 200hp mercury verado

Would be very pleased to have a few responses.

Best regards

Michael

Welcome to the Starmada.

This link to the 1990 brochure has many of the answers about the aluminum, thickness and max HP (240 HP). http://smg.photobucket.com/user/hotrod9mm/library/StarCraft Buochure?sort=3&page=1

The Mariners were designed for use on the Great Lakes, which are often like fresh water oceans - They are durable and well built. With any 27 year old boat riveted boat, some rivets may leak, but the they can be fixed. Many of us have even older aluminum Starcraft models and have fixed more than leaking rivets.

Do you have any pictures to show us?

Hello and thanks for all the answers. Here are some pictures of my boat. The condition is as far as I can judge this quite in order. Thank you for the brochure but the pages 1 and 2 are very undeudtlich and not to recognize, do you have them in a higher resolution? Thanks and regards Michael

Click the magnifying glass when looking at the brochure, it is quite large on a PC.. A phone might not be the best way to look at those pages.

Here is a part of the specs page;

A prior owner did a lot of work to change her from a center to side console, along with adding a refrigerator and head. She looks to be a fine boat.

I really like the canvas work on this boat. Congratulations and you should have some fine times at sea.

From your pictures it appears your boat is on a "electric/sail only" lake.
Can you tell us about that motor and where and how many batteries are on board and how it performs?

Looks like you need more beer in the refrigerator! Call me when it's full. Is the boat rated for that many horse power? The boat looks sweet.

I was expecting a center console boat, but the prior owner has added decks to this boat. I really like the canvas enclosure. It looks like a nice boat with many years of fun ahead of you! :encouragement:

Welcome to the forum, agree you need more beer.

what are your plans, other than a big motor? Looks fairly complete. What are you going to be doing, fishing fun or both?

what part of Germany? My little sister live just across the border in aabenraa dk. I'll be flying into hamburg this summer.

Hello everybody,

Yes definitely too little and the wrong beer in the fridge.
The previous owner was allowed to drive the boat on the edersee in germany only with an electric motor.
Yes is a lot of work in it and I would also like to make a lot,
- new cover
- Echo sounder
- 230 volt sockets
- New painting
- 200 hp outborder
- New Led lighting
- Install the heater
...
...

I use the boat mostly for fishing.
In spain and in holland I spend a lot on catfish, and there I spend with my girlfriend several days on the boat.
The last one was too small.
I'm looking forward to the first tour to spain in May.
To everyone a nice weekend
And greetings from germany

Michael
