Soooooo... I'm a sucker for old tin! I saw a finned tin boat for sale along the road and with a little bargaining and the removal of the junk Merc, this 1958 Jet followed me home! I think its in remarkably good shape with original paint and what looks like the original trailer (Tee-Nee??). I used the argument that after refinishing the interior wood it would be worth more then we paid... if I sell it lol. But look at those fins!! I needed another project like a hole in my boat as the Chief isn't done yet but oh well, one doesn't find great deals on 50's Starcrafts very often! And it helps that she was three houses down the road from my in laws who said I can leave it there till I can move it to my place :)

Haha, 64 you would never guess what was on it.... a torn apart Mercury 500! Reminded me of yours the moment I saw it from the road!

Yeah... I can resist anything but a temptation when it comes to things like this! It might be awhile til she's done, but for what I paid, I can afford to have it sit till I can fix her up.

Looking through the brochures, I'm thinking the trailer may be an original Starcraft branded one!

Does anyone remember a thread where a guy had a similar boat and colors? I seem to recall one that was painted the same "yacht white" and "Pacific green" but the only ones in the resto sticky of similar years are painted with non factory colors. I'd love to repaint her and her trailer like the original
