Starchief or Chieftian?

I've been a Starchief owner for almost a year and love to browse the internet and look at other Starcraft aluminum boats. I see a lot of boats that look like mine, a 1972 model, but some of the ones that I see are labeled 18 foot Chieftians. Is there a difference between the two? I thought the Chieftian was 21 feet or longer.

I think you misplaced this post. It was in the trailer section.

Have you looked at the Starcraft brochure stickie? Chieftains started at 18 feet and we have more than a few rebuilds of 18 footers.

Same boat that are different lengths is all. Not sure why SC did that but I wouldn't let it get caught up in your spokes as it doesn't matter they're all Chiefs. SC didn't do that with any of their other models or sub-models (V5) the Islander, SS and Holidays that start out at 15' are still called a Holiday.

Thanks Watermann and Gaboater, I just figured there to be something that distinguished one from the other. I've never heard of a 21+ Starchief. Just a joke.
I sure love the boats and may get another one day.
