I picked up at an auction an old 15ft Jet Star. Serial number 60-9440.
It seems a little different than the other Jet Stars that I see. Can anyone fill me in this model's history?

I deleted the attached pix that were duplicates of the 1 still visible.

From the 1 pix, nothing stands out as different then most (all?) Jet Stars I've seen, except perhaps the spray rail. What is it that you thinks makes it different?

I'm not 100% but that style of spray rail would suggest early 60s, but I don't know for sure if the Serial # includes year as the 1st 2 #s, which means a 1960.

Look thru the brochures posted at the top of the Starcraft forum

post some different pix

welcome to iboats, tin division

Hey Jack, :welcome: to iboats and the Starmada.

Nice little Jet and it looks like someone has already done some work by stripping the paint for you.

Jbcurt is probably right about the first 2 #s of the serial #. My ski champ is a 1957 and the hull# is 57-xxxx

It is hard to compare when it is out of the water. It seems to me that the edges are more rounded and the spray rail is up higher. Also, from the following pics, there is only one main brace connecting the transom with the hull rather than two that I see in other Star Craft Jets.

I agree that it was probably made in 1960.

Based on the info on the SC capacity plate you posted, its a Jet not a Jet Star so I change the topic title to be Jet

The Jet/Jet Star came w 1, 2 or 3 knee braces, IIRC....
