Hi all, just picked up a 1983 22ft'er!! The model is a SF 220 V. I've always liked aluminum boats as my last was a Starcraft sf14? (I think).......great little boat with a 25hp tiller. I sold it last year as it was just too small for my aging body and large family.

I was looking on CL and saw it near by......within a week it went from $2500 to $1900. I took a ride with cash in hand and my truck. It didn't run(Mariner 115 OB) but looked clean enough. It sat so long that the tires were just about flat and the blacktop sunk 3-4 inches! I made an offer and took it home!!

Before I get crazy with more details, what is the general opinion of this boat? My plan is to gut it and make it a simple/lighter fishing machine. I'll be sure to post some photo's.

Ya know we need pics, Mike.

The SF 220 is pretty much a fishing machine with a cuddy, isn't it? But all boats need to be improved.

I don't see a listing for a SF 220 V in the boat spec. Pictures would be great.

Yes, pix will be great, but here's the Specs on the SF 220 V:

In the SC iboats boat spec list for 1983, it's listed under the V models, not the SF models:

Welcome to the SC Tin-sanity Mike

Sounds like at 22ft w/ up to a 240hp outboard, it'll make a great fishing platform

Yes, I'm pretty sure SF= sport fisherman? Lots of useless panels etc. Floor is soft too so out it comes.

On its way to its new home!

Sounds like a great project cuddy cabin SC, cousin of the Islander and Chief. :thumb:

The SF designation in the 90's went to the SuperFisherman and then in the 2000's changed to the FishMaster.

Thanks all for the welcome! I think I'll fit right in around here.

LOL, You aren't kidding. I'm known to make big changes.......went from a Mazda B2500 4cyl truck to a F250 7.3 diesel!

I know everyone love pics so I'll be sure to add them in order. Here she is once I made it home. LOTS of cleaning and work ahead.

Beautiful tin cuddy, Mike. That's a great hull and the cabin is super handy for dry storage even if you never plan to sleep in it. Bonus points for an outboard model in terms of ease of installation. Congrats and welcome!

Started pulling up the floor..........what a mess! I'll do some searching but taking all the foam out and seal the whole hull. Turns out someone installed a new 50 gal. aluminum fuel tank. woo hoo!!
