Hello I am looking at a couple of ISLANDERS and a poster to a different thread I started suggested ONE MIGHT be a V5 hull
I was asking the difference between a 69 and 78 islander 18 FT stern drive

Is the V5 better ? and how would I tell
thanks

The V5 is a hull that was made for big water, using thicker aluminum in some area as well as a different hull shape and design. They also had an added chine on the bottom that came forward and up the front of the hull.

You can see it in this photo, it ends just at the lower bow stop on the winch post.
