i have an 88 C eagle 190 4.3 OMC. (great ski boat!)
Went to install a new starter today as the solenoid on the original is trashed.
i bought this starter http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350447383655&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
The starter was very small in comparison, however i was assured it would work by a few people.
The positive was installed incorrectly, (not too proud of that one) and sparked when we hooked up the battery.
Immediately disconnected and installed correctly.
Needless to say, i no longer have power to anything on that circuit.
I have checked the three main fuses (2 x 50 mains, and the 1 20 for the tilt/ trim)
and they are all good.
the fuse at the key was removed by previous owner when a new ignition was installed. (i will fix that later!!)
I have no gauges, no tilt trim, and obviously no starter.
All my aux works, as it is on its own circuit. (bilge, horn, blower, lights, etc)
sooo... is there a magic hidden breaker or fuse i should look for, or am i going to have to play the "did i fry this wire.. how bout this wire...." game?
Any links to a good wiring diagram?
I am going to look into a new starter, and hope i just shorted it out, and that solves everything.
I am open to ideas, or answers.... and you can leave the "yer a dumbass comments" out of it... i already know....
