Loose Console on 2002 Smoker Craft 18ft. Pontoon Boat

The steering console (helm) on my 2002 Smoker Craft 818 pontoon boat has come loose. I can raise it up about an inch off the floor! How do I access the inside of the console to see if the floor anchors are loose, etc? My console has a carpeted front side opposite my knees. It looks like a panel that could be removed, but I can't see any way to do that. Has anyone accessed the inside of such a console?

Are there any screws along the sides of the helm? The carpeted side may have small screws hidden in the piling. Best thing is to post some pics. Set up a Photobucket.com account and you can upload pics to it and then copy and paste to your post.
