Hi Folks,

I am shopping for a used ski boat and found a 1989 Ski Centurion with
only 145 hours on a 351 Ford engine. They are asking $7,650 OR obo.

Any opinions on this model and deal?

Thanks,

Re: Reviews on 1989 Ski Centurion

I have a 1989 Ski Centurian. It has been a great boat. Plenty of power and plenty of speed for barefooting.

My family has had this boat for about 10 years. The previous owner did a horrible redecking job on it. When the boat was willed to me, I decided to put new carpet in it. The decking came up with the carpet. So I decided to put a new deck in it. Under the deck the stringers were rotten because the Bozo use a staple gun to fasten down the deck.

One day it will be a great boat again. My only advice is that if you are going to buy a used boat, check the deck meticulously. If it feels soft anywhere, demand that you be allowed to pull up some carpet in that area so that you can inspect the extent of the damage. See attached pic for the potential outcome if you don't. :)
