Welcome aboard Stan. REALLY interesting - I didn't know they made a "pointy end" Kodiak. I've only ever seen 'em in tri-hulls. Take a look through HERE. The old catalogs might have a photo in to help zero in on a year.

I don't think the Kodiaks had windshields. But then again ... I didn't know they came in V-hulls, so ...

Thanks for the welcome! I have looked at the link you provided above - have gone through all the catalogs and nothing appears even close to the configuration of this boat. I have also spent quite a bit of time searching for this model via google, searching all the links and images found - but nothing. Completely has me stumped. :)

Added another picture, you can see it definitely had a windshield at some point in the past. I plan on mocking up a design with pieces of 1/4" plywood that I have laying around to see what sort of angles are needed. I mounted a depth-finder on the console last weekend so I already know that the current bevel on the front facing windshield will need to be modified as there was not enough from for a 5" depth-finder if left at the current angle. I milled up a quick piece of 2x4 with a 30 degree bevel that seems to give plenty of room for the depth-finder. That will mount to the console and then the windshield will mount to that piece.

Looks like the original windshield ran all the way back to the rear casting deck, but I don't think I'll be going back that far, maybe just 14-16" or so (any suggestions from others would be appreciated).

Great info on the site, I already have the info from the sticky post on carb synchronization for the Chrysler motor so I can work on that the next time I have the boat in the water.

Is there a HIN on the transom? Silverline maybe it was one of the later models after the company was sold.

Humph :mmph: sure doesn't show up in any of Silverline's stuff, does it?

1980 was the last year for 'em. They were really (particularly by that point) related to Larsons. You might looks at some of the Larson line up and see if you can see a similar layout for the windscreen. Look at the Catalina's in the 1980 catalog from the link I posted earlier, they're probably the closest.

Also - when I was looking, I ran across a small picture of a Larson Manta Fishing boat. I can only see one view of it, but it's really similar. Might be worth looking around for some more angles.

Still nothing as far as finding even a picture of another Silverline like ours.

In the meantime, found some things with the motor that needed repair. Minor stuff for the most part but things I wanted to get taken care of.
Did adjust the carbs 'just a tad' and had the boat out a couple days ago - seemed to come out of the hold with slightly less shuddering - more to come on those adjustments.

Stan, start a topic about your Silverline, esp if its an oddball setup that isnt common and/or isnt listed in sales data. Start another over in the motor forums if you need help getting it running right.

Good luck

The day I picked this 1971 Samoa 19V....a lot of work done already. Seats trashed, floor removed, and replaced (including the foam and floor stringers) storage "shelf" replaced, and now polished up. A couple electrical issues to work out, buy a couple of seats, build the rear bench, and engine cover then it should be water worthy again.

Well a couple years later and still haven't splashed her. Very very close though. Everything is done, just a minor carb adjustment (thinking air/fuel adjustment) then she'll be set. Ran it with the muffs, ramping up to around 4k (tach only gets up to 2K and no more for some reason) then down to 1500 RPM then back to 3-4 K again. Ran that cycle for about 15 minutes....no overheating, some water leaking from the pump, but not major.

1980 Silverline Nantucket 17V all original. Even the top has the Silverline logo. Seats and carpet are original. Original gauges all seem to work. 3.7 purrs like a kitten. Garage kept since 1997 and probably earlier. No rot. Super solid. Super excited.

Welcome aboard. Nantucket had nice lines to it. Always thought they probably ran nice on the water.
