I have a 09 xv180 and was having problems getting the speed that all the dealers told me that we should get out of this boat. They claimed 43-49. The engine is an 08 90 hp and has about 30 hours on it so no issues there. I originally had the engine set in the third hole down and with two people, half a tank of gas and a 13.25x17 Yamaha aluminum prop the best I could do was 39 mph at 5400 and three quarter trim then the boat would start to porpoise. So I raised the engine to the last hole up and bought two other props a mercury vengeance 13x18 and a 13x19 Yamaha aluminum. I took the boat out yesterday and with two people and about a half of a tank of gas I was able to get 40 with the 17p, 43 with the 19p and 45-46 with the vengeance and all speeds were at 5500 rpm. There was no porpoising issues at full trim and no real corner venting either, only with the aluminum props and anything past half trim. I would like to get a better aluminum prop and will post a question in the prop section.

I love this boat its a better boat and better riding and performing boat than the Lowe 1860 vds that I had. Hope this helps anyone who has the same boat. Kelly
