How do I winterize a mercruiser sterndrive while it's in the water?

Hi everybody

I need help winterizing my 1987 Searay 270 Amberjack. It has twin 205 H.P. 4.3L V-6's. With raw water cooling. I live in Eastern Washington and it's gets cold here. This is the first time that I will be mooring a boat during the winter. I like to fish during the winter and would like to make it simple to winterize and unwinterize when I go fishing.

I drained the exhaust manifolds
I drained the blocks.
poked a metal rod through the openings to break up the rust to ensure they actually drained.
I took the hoses off of the engines' water pumps.

This is where my question comes in:

I took the hose off of the power steering cooler and the water drained out of it. But a trickle of water still came out. I put the hose back on because I don't want the bilge to fill up, but I am afraid it will fill the cooler back up and break it when it freezes. What should I do?

Thanks,
Greg
