Hi,

Can anyone speak from personal experience using a 70HP with a Sea Nymph Striper 191 (CC191) or 19' GLS or similar?
Although it would be underpowered, how bad a setup would this be?

Here are the specs on a 1983 CC191

19' Aluminum
1000 lbs
140 HP max.
90HP reportedly pushs it up to 38 mph

These CC191 almost always have 90HP on them.

I did find only one report online of a 19' GLS with a 70HP, seller said it went up to 24 mph.
1993 Sea Nymph Sportfisher 195 GLS - Ohio Game Fishing Community

I was going to pick up a 1984 CC191 last fall but decided against it due to lack of power with my 1982 70HP evinrude, having second thoughts now, I think it might still waiting for me...

I never got my answer, but I bought an 18' aluminum starcraft 1969 offshore-v, listed at about 1000lbs in the original catalog.

30mph with the 70hp and 2 men. I think the 1000lb CC Striper would be about the same or only slightly less.
