engine housing cover

we have an 85 Rinker v170....the wooden box cover over the inboard part of the motor is on its last leg....I searched boaters world, no luck....am I calling it the right part, it wjere you could sit also, but mainly a box built to cover the motor....any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

I just rebuilt mine. Its pretty easy if you are any handy. Pull the old one out as careful as you can without making it worse. Take some measurements of it so you can determine how much wood you need. I duplicated mine, but you can make it anyway you like. Home Depot sells MARINE grade plywood that is treated. Just cut and build it to fit. Keep in mind, your going to cover it with carpet or whatever your going to use its a lot easier to build a square box. I made the mistake of having angles and turns and now I have seems in the carpet I wrapped it in... Anyway, should give you a weekend of work. Good luck to ya!
