Hello
Does anyone know if the 2150 LSC comes in an 8 cyl. I have a 1998 with a 6 in fantastic shape and I need some more power for boarding & skiing. I don't want to have to change the seats and I'm not sure if there is enough room for an 8. Does any one have an ideas?
Thanks
Jane

Yup, the 4.3 V6 was the base engine. They were available with 5.0 and 5.7 V8s, both carbureted and fuel injected. It would not be all that hard to put a V8 in there, but you'd need a different gear ratio in the drive to take the best advantage of of the extra power. That said, you would probably be OK (not ideal) with just re-propping to a higher pitch prop.

An engine swap like this is going to cost quite a bit of money unless you can source a good used marine V8 and do the work yourself.

That boat would fly with a 383 small block...

I had a 1997 with the 5.7L EFI Alhpa 1 with the 1.62 gear ratio. That was one fast boat! Max speed I seen was 57.5. I ran a Bravo 1 22 pitch 4 blade SS prop on it and at 3,000 rpms it would run 36mph with my wife and 2 kids. At 3500rpms it ran 42mph and at 4000rpms it ran 50mph... WOT 57.5mph. I ran mine anwhere from 3000-3500 depending on water conditions. Great boat for a lake! NOT the river HAHA That's why I got rid of mine.

I also had a 21 pitch 3 blade Mirage SS prop, with that prop, at 3000rpms it ran right around 30mph, at 3500 it ran 36mph and WOT was 55mph

AND I had a 23 pitch 3 blade Mirage SS prop too. The stats on it were pretty much the same as the bravo 1 22 pitch 4 blade but, the 4 blade had a much better hole shot and better mid range power

Hope this helps :)
