Porta-bote crack in end of rear keel hinge!

My 2004 12' porta-bote has formed a 2" crack in the seam at the very end of the keel, right below the transom. If is spreads another 1" I'm afraid I'll take on water. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might repair this? Also, even though I bought this bote used, is this crack still under the 10 year warranty?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Porta-bote crack in end of rear keel hinge!

doubt they'll cover it but you lose nothing by inquiring. if they won't help you, maybe try some of the flexible glue sold for shoe & vinyl pool/inflatable boat repair....Loctite makes one and Ace Hdwe has a house brand. "Shoe Goo" is one other brand that i've seen. i'd glue it with the transom insert in place since that's the position it will be in when you don't want it to leak (be careful not to glue the transom into place permanently.....).

good luck and let us know what you do. i expect i'll be dealing with similar issue eventually given the way i hammer my 'bote.
