I have a 91 Boomerang. Last week during our final ski run, the boat acted funny on take off. It felt like the prop was cavetating momentarily but then ran fine thru the slalom course at 34mph. The water temp was 54F, but I don't think this should affect anything. When we pulled the boat out of the water we checked the tranny oil and it was like a silver metallic paint. How are these transmissions made, do they have a clutch or a torque converter like a car. Can they slip. How difficult is it to pull it out of the boat. Something tells me I need a rebuild. Any info would be appreciated.

thank you,
Boomy
