Motor runs great coming out of the hole and straight runs. On turns motor revs high but goes no where. Once stopped can take off again and am good again till I have to turn again. Doesn't need to be a sharp turn either. Is it the hull design of the mako or a trick I need to learn with the trim? Should also mention it doesn't do it at very slow speed turns but after slow turn will do it on take off. That is what makes me think it is making an air pocket. I think yall call it ventalating. What can I do to stop this?

Okay cavitation plate is at bottom of keel when motor is trimed all the way down. Can only lower motor one more hole. When I have it trimmed up at wot can thar be the cause?

220 hp? on a 79 20' Mako?
That's a bit overpowered.
The early 20'ers had low transoms - short shaft required, too.
