Looking at purchasing one of these boats and putting new 200 hp merc outboards on it. Anyone who is familiar with this boat would be helping a lot in commenting on it's seawithyness and quality.
The boat has a very deep V .
Does at roll from side to side a lot??
About what would the max speed be with these motors?

The boat will be used on the ocean, sometimes in rough water.

lorne,

my buddy has a 84 25 foot mako center console with twin johnson 120s. hey, its rides solid. we clock out at around 40 something. -- nope it dont shack or rattle..unless you stuck at those 3-6 foot seas. then anything would shake.

but just do the usual inspection and make sure its good.

good luck

Ya, its a heck of a sports car, I have a 260 with 200's. Handles the seas great. I guess it depends who is at the helm tho! They can hit up to 5600 rpm but there is no need for that, backup emergency power. I do 3800 to 4000 and it is about 1mph per 1000 on mine. Plenty of speed. The deep deadrise on the bow cuts the water great and they jump on plane...right NOW.

I just posted about my 191. It leans quite a bit to the left. It seems like there is a lot weight on the left side. I am curious if other people experience this.
