Lund SSV-14 gas tank stowage

Just bought new Lund SSV-14 with Mercury 20ELHPT. The Merc 6-gallon quicksilver gas tank is too tall (half inch) to fit under the stern seat (as shown in Lund catalog).

Not sure if this is a Lund problem (insufficient seat design) or a Mercury problem (new tank design)?

Anyone have alternative tank suggestions?

Nice boat Tom, sorry to hear about the gas tank. The only thing I can think of would be to check into a after market gas tank, they may have a slightly shorter profile.

Atwood, Moeller and some others make portable gas tanks for boats.

Good luck and enjoy the boat! ( I had a 16ft a number of years back, I wish I had kept it)
