I have a question. My mother in-law got me a free boat and it has a 70 HP Chrysler on it. The guy that had it was trying to fix it. My problem is the top part of the boat is seperated from the bottom. I'm told some kind of trim holds the two together... Cam anyone help?

Yeah, I have some pics. I can post them later. The boat is not in the best of shape, but the engine runs well.DSC05688.jpgDSC05692.jpgDSC05695.jpgDSC05687.jpgDSC05691.jpg

nice, so whats your plan, put it on the water and see how it runs? Remamber if you run it on the trailer , put water to the motor by muffs or in a big bucket or something,ok

Well, I bought it and cleaned it up a bit with maguires. Maguires helped renew the faded green. After cleaning it up, I ran it with the motor muffs. It smoked a bit, probably from not running in two years (old fuel). Then I took it out on the lake a week and half ago. It preformed beautifully except it was taking on water. Brought it back to shore and thought I found the cause of the leak (damage to the bottom of the hull). I patched it with fiberglass and took her back out this past Monday, still taking on water but not a lot cause I had it out for four hours. I took it back home and upon further inspection I found the previous owner had drilled a screw through the bottom of the hull and "fixed it" by leaving the screw in and putting silicone around the screw to prevent it from leaking. I got out the fiberglass and patched up again. I will be testing it out again next week sometime.

After repairing both holes, I am still taking on water. Grrr. I guess I will keep on patching until I figure it out.

Kendegreat, an aluminum tract goes on with screws that hold the top and bottom of the boat together, then a rubber rub rail goes into the tract, jimmy120, nice boat, same color as the shark i had, just gave her up last year, had her for 30 years.
