I just purchased an old 17' Grumman Canoe privately with serial number 5296-GM-5-17. Under the serail number there's a barely readable name of I think "MARATHON" and then the second word starts with the letter "R". I think it's from the 1960's but I don't have paperwork for it. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me the exact year and model. The riveted tag is worn. I don't know how to read the serial numbers on these canoes yet. The original color was yellow, and it had a area in the bottom to attach a small sail according to the original owner.
