Just bought a used 2004 Glastron GX 205 that is in fantastic condition. The only thing not working is the gas gauge. The manual is worthless to identify which circuit breaker powers that gauge. Checked to make sure all the wires are tight. The needle doesn't move at all when power is turned on. Any ideas on how to tell if it's the sender or the gauge?

:welcome: to iboats

There are three wires connected to the gauge and I'll assume you have a Mercruiser. There should be a ground (black), 12V (purple) and sender (pink). If you have 12V on the purple wire and a good ground, jump the pink wire to ground. This will cause the gauge to read full.

If gauge does not read full, its the gauge. If gauge does read full, go to the tank and ground the pink wire again and see if gauge reads full. If it doesn't check for a break in the wire, if it does check sender.

If you have a sender with only a ground and the pink wire its probably the sender. If you have a sender which has another wire attached to it, then it could also need to check for 12V

Found that sender has dedicated ground direct to battery. When battery was replaced, dedicated ground was not reconnected. Works great after grounded.
