Your assistance please - looking to learn the dead weight of the engine hatch cover on a 2005 Four Winns 250 Horizon so that I may then order the correct powered engine hatch-lift to be installed. thank you !

Don't need the dead weight or you will end up with too strong a lift and difficult to close. Use a spring scale like a heavy duty fish scale and measure the weight opposite the hinge. Even then, the way it's mounted will make a difference.

Are any markings on the current lift? Have you tried contacting Four Winns?

You currently have Air shocks correct? They should be
048-0890 GAS SHOCK, 17" 30# GSNI-5200-30

According to the Four Winns website it's not in stock at four winns any longer, But the 234 Fun Ship uses Four Winns part number 065-1066-06 SCREW JACK,AMPED LIN ACT #4WC18MS-24.250

You could try searching online Four Winns dealers to call and see if the have anything left over in stock.
Here's where you as a Four Winns boat owner can look up your own part numbers by searching out your boat. http://parts.fwdealer.com/Catalog/Category?SelectedCategory=250H-U05-Z00

The parts guys at Four Winns should know the general weight of the engine hatch as they ship them out from time to time but I don't recall the cover being over say 80 pounds but that was some time ago now so just going off of fading memory.
