Rotted floorboards

I have a 1988 19' citation that is in great shape except the floor boards. I have removed the seats and floor hatches to find a fiberglass layer about 1/4" thick over what appears to be the plywood decking.

I would assume i can cut the perimeter of the fiberglass and remove this layer exposing the rotted plywood.

Any feedback on this adventure would be appreciated

Check the stringers and the transom too. It is a possibility that the stringers might be shot as well....

Re: Rotted floorboards

Thanks for the feedback. Is my approach of cutting away the fiberglass first to expose the plywood and stringers the right direction ??

Re: Rotted floorboards

I have never personally done it. I have read some forums and what i found most people doing is exactly that with a circular saw at a shallow depth.

You may want to repost this question in the boat restoration section instead of the manufaturer section...

What did you ever do with your boat. I just bought one with the same problem and wondering how you fixed the issue?
