Hi, I have a cruiser from the 80's and was wondering if I could see if the electrical stuff worked by just plugging in the shore power cord.(water pump, bilge pump, lights, etc.) The engine is not currently in the boat due to the block being cracked, but I want to see what electrical things work.

Re: Electrical

welcome.
As most items are 12v it would be better just to add a battery and test everything. Shore power is mainly a battery charger and a few receptacles.
p.s Make sure you tape up any cables that are disconnected before adding a battery.

Re: Electrical

Theres a sticky section at the top of the electrical forum which will help you with the wiring. Boats follow a common wiring plan so yours might not be exactly the same but it will be close.
