Last year I got a 1982 253. I think it's just a 251 with a little bunk hidden under the cockpit. Looks to be the same cockpit measurements as a 251.
The boat must have had a bimini; I see snaps and mounts for the original stock one. Do any OEM binimi companies sell the stock units -- that snap to the windshield? All I can find (******** etc) are the tops that ride a foot above your windshield.
I have access to an old harddop (nearly free) I could put on it, but it's heavy, oxidized and needs cleaning/paint so I think I'd rather have the canvas.
If I have to pay $1000 or more for a custom bimini, I'll restore the hardtop. But If I can get an OEM bimini that matches the original in the $300 range, I'd do that.
